SHS Administrative Team
Shane Brimhall
Principal
I’m Shane Brimhall, Principal of Snowflake High School. I’ve been a part of this school district since I first enrolled at Taylor Elementary as a five-year-old kindergarten student in 1966. Since then, I have been thrilled to be a proud member of the “Pack”. I graduated from SHS with the Class of “79”, leaving here with years of tremendous memories and treasured friendships that are still strong today. It took me fifteen years to return to SHS as a classroom teacher. During those years, I served a two-year mission for my church in Chile, South America, married my high school sweetheart, served in the United States Air Force as a Telecommunications Operations Specialist, worked in construction and attended multiple schools. In 1994, after graduating from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a dual major in History, I was fortunate to be hired by Mr. Ron Squire. The first three years of my time at SHS, I was a Special Education Teacher with my classroom located in the basement of the Academy Building; this room was affectionately known as “The Dungeon”. I then changed subjects and taught American and World History for eighteen years. During those years, I also coached basketball and softball and worked extensively with the Executive Student Council. In 2006, I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from NAU. In 2015, I was hired by Mr. Larry Titus to be the Assistant Principal at SHS. After the retirement of Mr. Titus in 2023, I was named as the new Principal.
I am still married to my high school sweetheart, Penny Godfrey Brimhall. She also works in education at Winslow High School as the CTE Director/Counselor. We have raised four wonderful children, and are now enjoying our ten grandchildren.
I love everything about Snowflake High School, including the challenges we face on a daily basis. I know our students have changed the world in a positive way and that the future is loaded with many positive and exciting opportunities and possibilities.
Remember, it’s always great to be a Lobo.

Scott Patton
Assistant Principal
As one of the assistant principals at SHS, I am proud to say I have been a Lobo for most of the past 37 years. I started as an English teacher at SHS in August of 1987. That’s farther back than any other current employee at SHS. In my 37 years working at high schools in Northern Arizona, 23 of those have been at SHS, where I have been an English teacher of all 4 grades and coached basketball. I have coached Jr. High boys basketball, Freshman and JV basketball, and from 1995 - 2001, I was the boys varsity basketball coach. I have also worked at Show Low High School where I taught English and coached basketball; Valley High School in Sanders, where I was assistant principal and athletic director, as well as head basketball coach; and Round Valley High School, where I also was assistant principal, athletic director, and head basketball coach. I have a Bachelor's degree in English from Brigham Young University, and I have a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
My wife, Carlynn, is also a lifetime Lobo. She graduated from SHS, and currently teaches 1st grade at Highland Primary. She has been teaching for many years also. We have four sons. Our oldest, Josh, currently lives in Show Low with his family and works in law enforcement. Jeremy is a 2015 SHS grad, and lives in Washington DC, where he works as an attorney. Jacob is a 2017 grad, and currently lives with his family in Orem, Utah, where he works in computer science. Jordan is a 2020 grad, and is entering his Senior year at BYU in Provo, Utah, and will also graduate in computer science.
Carlynn and I enjoy traveling (mostly to see our kids and grandkids), and going to college and pro sporting events. I am thrilled to finish my career at SHS, where I started all those years ago.

Joe Larsen
Assistant Principal
I started teaching in 2018 and have been teaching math for those 7 years. I started in Winslow and taught there for 4 years. Me and my family made the move over to Snowflake 3 years ago and have loved it. I coached varsity football D-Line for those 7 years at both schools. I also have been coaching wrestling for those 7 years starting the varsity girls wrestling program at Snowflake. To add to the list, I have been coaching throws for the past 7 years as well. I love sports, especially Lobo sports and the culture, and some of my favorite moments have been in those sports. I am a graduate from Winslow High School in 2008 playing Football, Wrestling and Track and I played football for Mesa Community College in 2012. I am a big fan of ASU football.
Before teaching, I was in the private sector working my way up the ranks in a plumbing wholesale company doing jobs like receiving manager, Inventory control specialist, and regional inside sales for the water treatment plant division. I wanted to make a difference and decided to teach and coach so I left that and started teaching.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Chain Store Management from Northern Arizona University. I also have a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University.
Me and my wife Brittany, who is from Washington State, have been married since 2012 and she will also be teaching 2nd grade. We have 5 children and we all love being a part of the Snowflake / Taylor area.

Kevin Standerfer
Activities/Athletic Director (SHS & SJHS)
I am Kevin Standerfer, Activities Director at Snowflake High School. I have been a Lobo for 28 years now. I grew up all over so I attended school in Page, Az.; Baytown, Tx.; Salt Lake City, Ut.; Winslow, Az.; before going 5th - 12th grades in Glendale, AZ. (I attended Cactus High School where I was awarded 8 letters in football, basketball, and baseball). I played junior college football at Eastern Arizona College in the fall of 1989 and baseball at Ricks College in the spring of 1990. I served a mission for my Church in the Oregon Eugene Mission from (1990-1992). Upon returning, I played football again at EAC in the fall of 1993 and completed my degree at Northern Arizona University. I got my first job at Snowflake Jr. High School in the fall of 1996, where I have been teaching and coaching ever since. I was at the Jr. High for 9 years where I taught Math (7th & 8th grade), Science (7th & 8th grade), Physical Education and Weights, plus I did lunch detention. In those years, I coached 8th grade Football for 3 years with Mr. Hollis Merrell, 8th grade Basketball for 1-year, Assistant Football Coach off and on for 11 years, and I was the Varsity Head Baseball Coach for 7 years. In 2005, I was hired as the Assistant Principal over Discipline at Snowflake High School, and I did that for 1 year. I was reassigned to be the SHS Assistant Principal/Activities Director from 2006 - 2023. In 2023, they adjusted my title and removed the Asst. Principal title, and I am now the Activities Director at SHS and the Athletic Director at Snowflake Jr. High, which I am still currently working in this position.
I met my wife, Amy, at EAC in 1993, and we married that summer before the football season. We have 4 kids: Valon graduated in 2013 and she taught at Snowflake Intermediate School for the past 5-years and recently got married and lives and teaches in Longview, Texas. Bailey graduated in 2016 and lives in Snowflake with her son (Maddux) and currently works at US Insulation. Traegon graduated in 2019 and lives in Snowflake with his wife Tycee (Class of 2020) and they have a son (Brooks). He works for Brig Turley at Sundown Steel and is a coach on the SHS Football staff. Braedyn graduated in 2023 and is currently serving an 18-month for our Church in the New York - New York City Mission.
My hobby is my job. I love watching sports, and you can usually catch me sitting at games watching and cheering on the Lobos and reading books. I enjoy watching high school and college athletics and just being with my family.
I am so proud and honored to live in the Snowflake-Taylor communities and work with the fine students that attend our schools. I never hesitate to say that I am a SNOWFLAKE LOBO!!
Once a Lobo... Always a Lobo!
