Why Choose Us

High school is a dynamic time in a student’s educational career. Not only does one learn vital material in school necessary for future success, but a student also develops goals and habits that will help guide him/her through college and the rest of life. Our goal at SHS is to graduate students who exemplify what it means to be an SHS Lobo: integrity, loyalty, and honor. Our administration, faculty, and staff dedicate themselves to developing a unique curriculum based on each student’s specific needs.
We know the decision of where to send your son or daughter to high school is not an easy one, so we encourage you to spend some time reading about our educational philosophy. We would also like to thank you for your consideration. After viewing our website, if you still have questions, please contact our office!

Expert Staff
Parents, do you remember your favorite teacher in high school? Why do you remember this teacher? It is probably because he/she did more than focus on the words in a textbook. Your favorite teacher probably went above and beyond to make sure you had a unique educational experience, and he/she made learning enjoyable.
We are fortunate at Snowflake High School to have administration, teachers, and staff who all resemble that great teacher you remember. We want our students to know and understand that they are important, so we do not teach them as if they are part of a group. We recognize that all students learn differently, so our teachers have developed unique lesson plans to meet the needs of each student.

High-Quality Curriculum
At Snowflake High School, we prepare our students for the future. In the classroom, we prepare them for college so they will be the best candidates possible when applying to their college of choice. Whether it be meeting with a teacher one on one or utilizing Re-Teach and Enrichment Friday, we make sure our students grasp the concepts taught in the classroom each week.
We also offer opportunities for our students to learn about a variety of career options through our Career and Technical Education program so they can determine their interest. According to the CTE website, “The average high school graduation rate for students concentrating in CTE programs is 90.18 percent, compared to an average national freshman graduation rate of 74.9 percent.” This program not only helps our students reach their goals of graduating, but it is also increases the importance and impact of their education.

Extracurricular Opportunities for Every Student
For the students who enjoy athletics, we offer an extensive athletics program. However, we do understand sports are not for everyone, so we also offer a wide-range of opportunities for students in our Fine Arts Department. If a student is looking for leadership opportunities outside of athletics and fine arts, we encourage these students to look at becoming a member of our student council.
We encourage our students to find an extracurricular activity that matches his/her interest. Education is more than learning information taught inside the classroom. Extracurricular learning offers students the opportunity to pursue their interests and goals with other classmates who enjoy the same things. Another important skill our students learn is how to sharpen their time management skills. Time management is not only vital to success in our high school curriculum, but it is a vital skill necessary for success throughout one’s life.
